Chutney started in 1987 when the supply for vegetarians and others who prefer non-animal food was very poor among Stockholm’s restaurants.

The brand has become a familiar concept and Chutney’s popularity increases as more and more people opt out of animal food and environmental awareness becomes bigger among the locals.

With inspiration from the Middle East and Asia, the restaurant is exotically decorated while the recipes are often retrieved from India, Persia, Thailand and more. The music from the speakers is picked up from all over the world, generally relaxing chill-out, reggae, jazz, Indian and Middle Eastern. In the other room there is no music, for those who want quiet.
At Chutney all ages and characters gather, with one thing in common: all love good, healthy food, not derived from the animal kingdom!
